The
UEI Next Generation (NextGen) Technology Center
is serving as the gateway to opportunity for people
in low-income communities, this access to computers
and computer-related technology, allows us to find the shortfalls, develop and implement solutions
within the communities; thus, closing the technology divide. We are introducing
new terminology such as SMART Community, Next Generation
Homes and SMART Learning Environment. Michigan is experiencing what
happen when we become complacent with relying on one
industry as the primary source of revenue. Although, Michigan is attempting
to diversify its primary revenue source to multiple industries,
many communities are feeling the adverse effects of increased unemployment
and lose of faith. UEI NextGen Technology Center understands these facts and its taking a proactive role in providing
alternatives. UEI NextGen Technology Center. Mission
is to support community technology centers by providing
staffing and advance technology training support, as well as helping communities to start new businesses to meet the needs of local and global economies; and better
serve the SMART technology initiatives within our communities.
UEI
NextGen Technology Center has established a consortium of
high technology industries, academia, neighborhood networks
centers, government agencies and training programs that provide
opportunities whereby people of all ages who typically
lack access to computers and related technologies can
learn to use install and repair these technologies
in an environment that encourages exploration and discovery
this experience. In addition, develop personal skills
and self-confidence, required to take there
rightful place in the high tech community.
Currently
we are working with The Divine Technology Center (DTC)
in Clinton Township Michigan, on a landmark initiative
which will bring all of our goals and objective to reality.
